We have an very friendly ethos and encourage all swimmers from learner pool through to county standard. We believe that swimming promotes health and fitness, individual and team discipline through training and galas. We are very family orientated with successive generations joining the club, often swimming at the same sessions.

STAR International was founded by three friends in 2012 after many years of international volunteer service. While there are countless areas in need of assistance, our hearts lie with the children of Romania, especially those with special needs living in orphanages, group homes, or underprivileged communities. The quality of life of many of these individuals could be improved greatly with increased exposure to therapy. STAR International advocates not only for the importance of therapeutic interventions, but also for the rights of these children and young adults to receive them. Unfortunately, due to the current economic situation, access to resources is limited. We assist in providing resources needed to ensure the most successful therapeutic experiences possible, including training for caregivers in the skills needed to help those with disabilities reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

The Waterside Charitable Trust raises funds for health, sanitation and youth programmes in Africa. Its main focus is currently in Kenya and in the slums of the city of Kisumu. Kisumu, on the banks of Lake Victoria is Kenyas third largest city.  Most of our work is carried out in Obunga, home to 12,000 people who live in shanty buildings made of iron sheet and wood and who earn less than $1 a day. Toilets in the area are simple pit latrines that feed into the dirty river that runs through Obunga, helping spread disease. Thusfar we have built one toilet block, a community centre and have helped numerous small businesses in an effort to raise the standard of living. We are currently constructing a youth centre modeled on that of one of our partner organisations, The Hunslet Club in Leeds.

Zinc (formerly Theatre Resource) is an amazing organisation. Straddling the arts, education, health and social care sectors, and using visual, media and performing arts, we provide a wide range of opportunities for disabled people and other socially-excluded groups. Our work allows participants to become involved in creativity, acquire new skills, gain qualifications and secure employment and supported employment within the arts and creative industries. Employing 46 people, Zinc is one of the larger disabled-led arts organisations in the UK and the only one to own and operate its own arts education centre. As we approach our 21st birthday, we have embarked on a major capital development which will see our centre in Essex expand to become a fully accessible residential education facility. This development will allow the organisation to  expand the scope and range of its services and establish a world class centre of excellence for the development of arts education activities with and for disabled people, socially-excluded groups and the local community. 95% of the money required for this development has already been raised but there is still a little way to go to reach the £6.2million fundraising target for this project. Every year, a newly-elected committee selects two charities to be the beneficiaries for that year's fundraising.Our 2018 charities are Médecins Sans Frontieres and SOFEA, two fantastic charities providing much needed work internationally and locally, respectively. We are raising money for MSF in loving memory of Lottie Fullerton, a much-loved member of our year who tragically passed away last year.To raise money for these charities, we hold a number of events throughout the year. These include a student pantomime in November, as well as various challenges such as a Cycle to Paris trip. The 2016 team raised over £30,000 for their chosen charities, which was an incredible achievement! Caroline's Rainbow Foundation is a registered UK charity working to raise awareness of the importance of safe travel to young people, whether they are going abroad for independent travel, gap year placements, organised tours or simply thinking about visiting a different country. CRF was founded after the tragic death of Caroline Stuttle in 2002 in Bundaberg, Australia whilst travelling on her gap year. Aimed at young travellers, CRF works with the education sector, The Foreign Office and other organisations, trusts and charities to provide easily accessible and helpful information about safe travel. In particular the charity provides information about personal safety abroad and encourages young people to recognise and prioritise life’s values wherever they may be in the world. Caroline’s Rainbow Foundation is involved with lots of exciting current projects to raise awareness of travel safety to our next generation of travellers. Travel Safety App 2012 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary, to keep up with the busy lives of travellers we are creating a Travel Safety Awareness App for iPhone and Android hand held devices. The App will be available free to download and use. The Travel Safety Awareness App will offer specific travel and safety information for destinations around the globe. Giving travel safety tips, information about the country or city, highlights and attractions, useful and emergency phone numbers, helpful website links that travellers might need, local and annual events in the area, places to go and avoid, season to travel, interactive maps, current population, ethnic groups and languages spoken, Local news, political situation and currency exchange rates. Education in Schools An important part of CRF’s work is to provide educational materials to young people and support teachers in raising awareness about travelling safely.   Our Presentations in Schools Program offers free talks to Schools, Colleges and Universities. The program is run by Caroline’s brother, Richard Stuttle, who has travelled extensively himself and has completed a tutor training course organised by The Suzy Lamplugh Trust to become a tutor trainer. Richard then tailored a course to educate young people about travelling and foreign cultures. Sally Baker, Rebecca Downes and Ben Fogerty who are all experienced travellers are also fully trained to give presentations to Schools, Colleges and Universities about safety for gap year travellers. In 2005 pupils and friends associated with St Mary's Chesterfield raised £44,000 and built a primary school in Titao. This is a small town in northern Burkina Faso. Before our project no school existed. Now over 130 boys and girls are able to attend school each year. We continue to raise £7,000 every year to help pay for the costs of running the school. Every day, people in the Rhondda and surrounding areas are going hungry.The Foodbank partner with churches and communities in Rhondda to make sure people in crisis have at least three days of well-balanced food to meet their needs and that of their families. The Foodbank also support people by signposting them to other support agencies after listening to their stories. Most of the Foodbank work is done by volunteers at the main warehouse at Acts Community Church in Tylorstown and Distribution Centres based in local churches. The south Bucks branch of the RSPCA cares for around 400 sick, injured and abandoned animals in our local area each year. Finding them new homes and giving them a second chance is the main focus of our work. Many are beloved pets from owners who can no longer care for them, others are rescued from abuse and neglect. Run by volunteers and almost entirely self funded, we rely on the generosity of individuals, groups and companies to help us care for the local animals in need.
