The Prison Charity Fund supports staff who help not only personal family members who need medical help or equipment , but also any community project such as Hospices, Help the Hero's. Cancer Research. What ever money Prison staff raise the fund helps the fund raiser reach their target to help others in their time of need. The Charity has also helped family's raising monies for seriously ill children who have needed emergency treatment to save them. Over 2 Million Pounds has been given to the community since 1989 by the Prison Service Charity Fund committee. The committee are all volunteers and view applications each month giving an average of £9,000 a month to good causes. Our funds are donated by staff, but anyone can be a member donating monies from their salaries. Five of our staff are running the Great North Run this year on September the 7th. Please support them to raise money for this charity which has never failed to support the community for over the past twenty five years. Thank you Ken Wingfield MBE.
