We have over 1000 members from the very young all the way through to our more senior swimmers. Fundraising plays a vital role In order to create the best opportunities for all of our swimmers. We run swimming activities for the whole community from those youngsters learning to swim, through development and competitive squads, performance swimmers, adult squads, even adult swimming lessons and school swimming.We run a strong competitive squad programme with swimmers at county, regional and national standard, as well as Club swimmers swimming for health and social reasons. We run a thriving Learn to Swim Programme focused on providing the highest quality swimming lessons possible to ensure that young people develop water confidence, as well as excellent stroke technique. Uniquely among swimming clubs we run a community outreach programme which aims to ensure inclusive access to swimming for all. We believe swimming is a fundamental life skill, which increases individuals’ safety near water as well as developing confidence, dedication and responsibility. Through our community programme we run a series of local projects to increase accessibility to swimming regardless of ability or background, with our aim to ensure that all children leaving primary school can swim 25m. This charity supports a very small rural school in Oakham, Rutland. Friends of English Martyrs are a group of volunteer parents who help provide specialist equipment and resources for all the children. The charity supports disadvantaged children and their families and helps to pay for cultural, social and educational experiences that they would otherwise be unable to benefit from.
Although the activity on the pitch is the most noticeable, of course like any rugby club we cannot operate without backup from a team of willing volunteers, sponsors, supporters and partners.

An opportunity is given to work towards living in a more complete and satisfying way.
