The Omid-e-Mehr center takes the best teachers and psychologists in Tehran to provide therapy and education for over 180 girls at any one time. Our unique holistic approach helps the young girls achieve self-awareness, self-determination and self-sufficiency. Hospital Radio Reading (HRR) is the hospital radio station which broadcasts to the patients at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. Run solely by volunteers HRR tries to make a hospital stay slightly easier by bringing a bit of entertainment to patients, visitor and staff. HRR has been bringing music and entertainment to patients atReading’s hospitals since it started in 1957. Now based in the Royal Berkshirehospital, our volunteers spend time meeting and talking to patients andentertaining them over the radio. HRR has a huge variety of live and speciallyrecorded programming ranging from our patient request shows which are thebackbone of the schedule through to live football commentary, specialist musicshows and celebrity interviews. As well a making a stay in the hospital somewhatmore cheerful, we provide training for member of the community in the skills surroundingradio broadcast. NDCC is a registered charity working to support young people living in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. The Centre provides everyday essentials like food, clothes and access to accommodation for its students, helping them to put and end to their life on the streets, and to finish their education in a safe environment. Founded in 2006, NDCC has grown from caring for 12 children to supporting over 60, and now employs nine local staff. 100% of the money we raise goes to the project in Ethiopia, making sure that all of our students get the care they deserve and that every donation really does make a difference. Lady Margaret School PTA (LMS PTA) is based at Lady Margaret School (LMS) in Parsons Green, Fulham in London. The school is a Church of England secondary school for girls with approximately 750 pupils and 90 staff. The school became an academy in 2012. The PTA seeks to foster positive relations between staff and parents and to enrich the daily lives of students. The PTA does this by fostering good communications between all parents and staff as well as raising money to fund items not covered by statutory resources. The PTA contributes in many ways to enhance the sense of community within school. The PTA is run entirely by volunteers with a Steering Committee who are elected at the AGM. There are also large teams of parents who take on specific tasks and responsibilities, such as the Christmas Fair and Garden Party Committee, Class Representatives, Parent Communicator/Co-ordinator, Data Base Co-ordinator, Induction Day Team and Staff Teas.
