YTD Raised: £0.00We are the Fraternity Without Borders, Registered UK Charity no. 1173707. We care for the poorest regions of the world. Our main target is to assist orphans and vulnerable children, many of them with HIV. Since 2009, we have been providing food, education, cultural activities and basic healthcare to thousands of vulnerable children. We have been working to set up Shelter Centers in places where hunger, extreme poverty and vulnerability make new innocent victims every single day. One of these places is Mozambique, where the number of orphans due to AIDS continues to rise. In the absence of their parents, children take on the responsibility to care for their younger siblings. Because of the difficulties of survival, thousands lose the essential rights of any child, such as education, decent food, entertainment, healthcare and others. Our work began in Africa, and today we have 26 Shelter Centers which can take in about 9,000 children. The support for these boys and girls, as well as for the elderly in the villages, happens through the sponsorship by volunteers in Brazil, UK, USA and in different places worldwide and hopefully from you as well…

YTD Raised: £0.00When we think about people living in poverty, the images that come to mindaren’t often of the communities that surround us. Yet in Britain today, 3.6 million children are growing up in households so poor, providing basics like heating andfood is a daily struggle. A child growing up in poverty can all too often become trapped in a downwardspiral of low educational achievement, inferior job opportunities and greatlyincreased chances of drug use, poor health and involvement with crime. In someareas they will even die sooner than their wealthier neighbour. We are Teach First and we think this is wrong. We are working towards a future where every child can succeed, regardless of their background. And we have seen how excellent classroom teachers can transform a child’s life opportunities. We recruit dynamic, passionate graduates and career-changers to teach in schools in low-income communities. We only work with schools where more than 50% of pupils come from the poorest homes. Only 4% of newly qualified teachers would consider working in these schools, but all of our teachers commit to working there for a minimum of two years. In ten years, more than 4,000 Teach First teachers have worked in over 500 schools. We are building a movement of leaders who will change the education system, eradicating educational disadvantage and making a meaningful impact on children, their families and communities.
