Young people develop life and social schools through group work sessions, detached work, drop-in sessions and one to one support. Domestic abuse and sexual violence is very much prevalent in today’s society with an estimated 1.2 million women and 800,000 men experiencing domestic abuse and over 33,0000 women being sexually assaulted in a year. Government statistics state 1.3 women and 1.6 men will be victims of domestic violence at some stage of their life. (UK statistics) 2014.Our service is sadly in high demand and due to these current austere times it can difficult to meet the needs of our service users within the city. All of the money we raise goes towards bringing a group of children from the age of 7 to Scotland for a month of love and care with host families who look after their Belarusian child as if they were their own. The children benefit from living in clean, healthy, uncontaminated air and surroundings and eating uncontaminated healthy food. They enjoy a packed programme of fun activities and return home with suitcases packed with warm clothes for the bitter Belarusian winter, vitamins and painkillers.
