Oceans of Hope UK runs sailing events for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is a chronic condition where the body attacks the brain and nervous system. MS leads to physical, cognitive and emotional challenges many of which are not obvious and are difficult to explain. Oceans of Hope (UK) unites people with MS by working cooperatively in a sailing environment to overcome significant challenges. The events have helped participants to find strength and confidence, reigniting their desire to once again live their lives to the full rather than feeling limited by their disease.

Blossom Trust is a UK registered charity (no. 1145318) was started in the year 2012. The primary mission is "Enabling communities by educating children and empowering women." The trust started with a motivation to help disadvantaged children and has since expanded projects into education, mental health and empowering women to achieve this objective. Women and children have been through unimaginable struggles, several of whom have been victims of catastrophic effects of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Most of the families are headed by widowed women who are living in extreme poverty. Trust wants them to sustain their livelihood by allowing them to gain regular income and reduce their dependency on others by sustainable water facilities and from growing coconut plantation & other cash crops. By strengthening and sustaining their own household income, the war affected women will have an increased opportunity to lead a more independent family life. Trust is also committed to support underprivileged undergraduate students from Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka who abandon their degree courses due to lack of funds for their upkeep.
