YTD Raised: £0.00

Together for Peace (T4P) is a small charity with a big vision and big reach. Its deliberately small team work with a wide range of people across Leeds and beyond – to develop and support cooperative projects that strengthen communities, deepen inter-cultural understanding, and promote peace-making in all aspects of life and society. Every piece of work we do is in partnership with others. We enable people to make connections around shared values, then help turn visions and ideas into positive action. Working from grassroots to government, we catalyse initiatives, broker partnerships, and co-host a range of dialogue, learning and creative events. In this way, T4P has - since founding in 2002, and launching publicly in 2003 - co-developed 180+ projects and events, including… the Leeds Active Citizens community leadership programme; the Jewish-Muslim dialogue project, including a joint trip to Palestine and Israel; the 'Leeds Poverty Challenge'; the Planet Leeds street festivals and events; the ‘In One City’ programme of films; the Leeds Summat gatherings; city-wide arts events and exhibitions on big issues; a range of cross-community development and dialogue programmes; the Leeds to London WALKTALK cross-community dialogue initiative; schools work; and more. T4P also acts as an incubator for others to develop work alongside us, such as the Inter-Active inter-community sports and dialogue project. (Full info on all this is on our website.) We’ve received various awards, including: the Leeds City Council Partner of the Year awards 2012; the Institute for Community Cohesion’s Awards for Bridging Culture (small charities category) 2010 (www.cohesioninstitute.org.uk); and Community Cohesion Organisation of the Year 2008 and 2010, from the prominent local Hamara Centre (www.hamara.org.uk).

Thank you for visiting our fundraising Page!! Exilda's Angels is a UK registered charity that has built a Primary school in the Mpika region of Northern Zambia to develop and provide education for the surrounding villages. The charity was originally founded in partnership with UK registered charity "Lloyd's Register". As a non profit organisation "Lloyd's Register" encouraged it's employees to develop charity and community projects in 2010 as part of its 250 year service. A team was formed led by project manager Exilda Mungulube to build a school in her home town of Chitta Village, Northern Zambia. Exilda has ran previous projects in the surrounding area previously and so contacts were made, funds raised and the building progressed. The school is currently completing the final internal fit out and decoration with toilets, playgrounds and teacher housing scheduled to commence building later this year The school is being built to The Mpika Ministry of Educations plans and standards, the building work being verified by the Ministry's building inspectors. The school has the full backing of the Education Ministry and local government who have confirmed their full support in the provision of electrical supply, internal outfitting and salaried teachers on completion. The funds for the building of the school have been raised through various activities and donations, one hundred percent of which go directly to the project for the purchase of materials and labour costs for the building work. The charity directors work on a complete voluntary basis. The first primary school is now nearing completion with final fit out and internal decoration underway. Prior to the school opening we need to build a toilet block and teacher housing, scheduled to commence later this year. With your help we can make a difference. Thank you
