YTD Raised: n/aG-Force is an Altrincham based charity run by local people for local people. It aim is to support and empower residents of all ages to get the most of of life. G-Force runs a Family Centre in Timperley as well The G-Force Community Cafe on Broomwood Estate. It specialises in delivering a whole range of Youth activities such as Altrinchams only Open Access Youth Club, School holiday activities, a Youth Forum and bespoke support into employment for those Young People (aged 18 to 24) who are struggling to get into work. We employ a full time Art worker who delivers art lessons to gifted and talented Children in local schools, in sheltered housing schemes to elderly residents and at our Centre. We also delivery group Art sessions to help adults suffering with loneliness and depression at our local Doctors surgery called 'A brush and a Brew' as well as a 'Men's Shed' project targeting lonely or vulnerable older men aged 50+. We also offer a bespoke support service to individuals and families in crisis helping with such issues as debt management, housing problems, lack of food, toys at Christmas and many other issues. We understand the importance that a good local environment has on community self esteem and work hard to engage residents (YOUNG AND OLD) in looking after where they live. Over the years we have organised 100's of litter picks ( involving 1000's of volunteers) as well as lead various projects that have dramatically improved the environment of Broomwood Estate. A good example is the improvements to the local park and areas of public open spaces that attracted over £100k of external funding. We are a completely independent charity that raises its our own income through trading, selling our services or through grants and donations.

(UK, SC040648) In concert and in contest The Co-operative Funeralcare Band has been making music for over ninety years. Over that time, it has proved to be the most successful band in the history of Scottish brass band music. The band has won the Scottish Championships 32 times and, during the 1990's, twice carried back to Scotland the National Championship of Great Britain - the only Scottish band ever to win this prestigious championship. The key aims of the band as a charity are to: (1) Promote public appreciation and understanding of brass band music and to stimulate interest in the art of brass band playing for the benefit of the public generally and especially members of the Co-operative Movement. (2) Promote the education and training of people of all ages, in the playing of brass instruments and their appreciation of brass band music.

OUR CHARITY IS A NON PROFIT CHARITY AND WE RELY TOTALLY ON GRANTS AND DONATIONS WITHOUT WHICH OUR CHARITY COULD NOT CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THIS MUCH NEEDED SERVICE FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE.

YTD Raised: £0.00The CHIRA (Chichewa for ‘get well’) Fund has been in existence for more than 10 years, with the aim of promoting the health of adult patients admitted to Queen’s medical wards by improving the environment in which they are cared for. There are over 10,000 admissions to the hospital each year. 80% of those admitted are infected with HIV and 30% of people who are admitted die on the ward. Although there have been many significant improvements in the past years, the wards continue to be overcrowded, with frequent drug shortages and a severe lack of medical and maintenance staff. We receive donations from organisations, friends, past and present staff and well wishers from all over the world; however as is the case in most hospitals worldwide, adult medical wards are not usually the target of benevolent donors. It is important, however, to remember that in these beds lies someone’s mother or father, brother or sister and very often the breadwinner of the family. We use the money to provide for everyday needs for the hospital’s patients, who are among the poorest of the poor. We aim particularly to provide a cleaner environment, better toilet and ablution facilities, wheelchairs and, in emergencies, drugs that may be temporarily out-of-stock.
