(UK, 1117694) Browse eventsThank you for considering supporting the Olney-Newton Link. We are at the Olney end of the Link, a small town in North Buckinghamshire, at the other end are our friends in Newton, a small community in Sierra Leone. Our Link is like a many-layered twinning. We aim to advance education (we have provided toilets and books for schools) and helped to relieve poverty (weve funded the rebuilding of war-damaged homes and recently a Skills Centre where vital skills can be passed on, to help the community help themselves out of poverty). We have made a start, but, with the help of more donations, we want to do more. Communication has had to be mainly by mobile phone which is costly and unreliable. We want to bring the internet to Newton and to provide generators to power computers, drawing the people closer to us and to the global community with all the that will bring. Currently we are raising funds to enable the town of Newton to build 4 Community toilets. £5 will pay for the schools to post packages of letters from their students to ours. £12 will provide petrol to run a generator for the Skills Centre for one day. £15 will pay the cost of transporting goods we provide from the ports to Newton. £33 will pay for a wooden chair and table (made in Sierre Leone) for the Skills Centre. £60 will pay for a reconditioned PC for the Skills Centre. £65 will pay for one metal disk and chair. £100 will pay for shipping a carton of second hand books, medical supplies, reconditioned computers etc to Sierre Leone.

(UK, 1136201) Browse eventsThe Community Sports Foundation (TCSF) seeks to work within communities in England to improve access to sport for children and young adults, regardless of their background, ability, ethnicity, gender, creed or colour. We look to use the power and excitement of sport to break down many of the barriers which exist within communities, impacting on issues such as youth crime, anti social behaviour and rising obesity levels. Our objective is to run free to access afterschool clubs, holiday camps and other events that provide stimulation and activity for children and young adults who may not normally have access to such services. One of the Foundations core objectives is to develop sporting activities and provisions for members of the community who suffer from learning and physical disabilities. This requires highly skilled coaches whose cost and availability often makes them simply out of reach for many sufferers to access. With your support we can create an equal playing field and deploy the skills of over 200 fully qualified coaches across the South of England so that every child, young adult and community has access to high quality and engaging activities. On behalf of everyone at The Community Sports Foundation thank you for your support.
