Earl Haig founded the Charity in 1921 and its scope greatly increased following the Second World War. Today there are 57 Member Organisations in 50 countries, stretching from the Caribbean, across West, East and South Africa, the Indian sub-continent to South-East Asia, the Pacific and Australasia.

We give decision-makers the proof – and the push – they need to make the right, smart choices to help improve the lives of the millions of people around the world needing HIV treatment, prevention, care and support. We are striving for a world in which peoples’ human rights are respected. Discrimination that prevents certain groups of people from accessing services is stopped and the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS are fully respected. 16 million people that are in need of treatment around the world still aren’t getting it. And just at this moment our leaders are backing away from the promise to deliver HIV prevention, treatment, care and support to all. We still need to fight to Stop AIDS. YTD Raised: £55.00Thank you for visiting Shires Holt Horse Sanctuary, We currently provide permanent sanctuary care to more than more than 60 horses and ponies , Through the years of our work we have homed more than 200 horses.. None will ever leave our ownership as they have a home for life with us, but either through re-homing or as in our grazing herds many will leave our immediate care to explore other wonderful locations.. For some due to the suffering they have endured, should they require more specialist veterinary care or careful handling will happily remain with our immediate grazing herds living out naturally for most of the year in our home locations.. Please donate to support our cause. With more than 60 horses and ponies we have much to do. Shires Holt is also the primary Cornish Sanctuary for rescued Bodmin Moor Ponies. Working closely with APHA, Bodmin Moor Commoners Council, Redwings, World Horse Welfare, & the RSPCA on the unfolding situation on Bodmin Moor, from moorland evaluations, to drifts & transportation, to providing a home for life or starting rehabilitation to enable other charities to provide care. We also work with other Agencies on Conservation Grazing Initiatives..
