Northumbria Blood Bikes aims to deliver essential blood products and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites in North East England. Outside normal office hours, when their own transport service is not available, hospitals have to rely on taxis or couriers to transfer urgent medical supplies or test samples between hospitals and other sites. Blood Bike groups across the country seek to carry out this service free of charge, saving thousands of pounds that our hospitals can use elsewhere. Northumbria Blood Bikes will be run by volunteers, giving their own free time to deliver the service.

We are volunteer members of the community of Whitehaven and District also covering surrounding villages of Parton, Moresby, Moor Row and Lowca Community First Responders are volunteers who are trained to respond to emergency calls in their local area through the 999 system in conjunction with our regional Ambulance Service NHS Trusts. NWAS.We are trained to administer vital, life saving first aid treatment before the arrival of an Ambulance crew. Our early intervention further increases the patient's chance of survival and sometimes just provide the simple reassurance that the ambulance crew are on their way. Please donate to support our cause.We are everyday people volunteering to help our community by attending 999 calls such as cardiac arrests, fitting, diabetics etc. We fundraise for kit and pagers which are vital to keep us active.We are proud to have won community awards for the voluntary roles we carry out. Life changing activity & adventure ski holidays for disadvantaged sick and disabled children Katie's Ski Tracks is a registered UK charity that changes young lives by taking children from disadvantaged backgrounds be it through life threatening or life limiting medical conditions, disability or extreme social problems on the unthinkable, a Specialised and Without Parents, Adaptive Adventure Skiing Holiday of a Lifetime to Sudtirol Italy These youngsters are so often excluded from school and family holidays and for some it will unfortunately be the first and last holiday they will ever take. Katie's Ski Tracks was renamed after the late Katie Noctor who helped co-found the charity in 1990. Katie lost her own personal fight to illness when she died of skin cancer in 1993 aged just 30 Katie’s Ski Tracks was born from an idea (a dream) which occurred to Martin Newman whilst working with sick and disabled children in Lourdes South West France in 1987-8. During his free time he would always venture up into the nearby Pyrenees Mountains and partake in his passion for skiing. It was here that he began to realise how very fortunate he was to be so fit and healthy and to be able to enjoy the sheer beauty and the therapeutic values that the mountains could offer him as here any problems or worries always seemed to vanish into insignificance.
