They are trying to raise money for research into children's cancers because, in their words: "Adam Dunning is our hero and it is impossible to explain how hard life is without him! We want to raise money to fund research into all types of children's cancer to stop other families from losing children to this horrific disease and going through the hell that we do on a daily basis!" IFAW (UK, 1024806) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve the welfare of wild and domestic animals throughout the world by reducing commercial exploitation of animals, protecting wildlife habitats and assisting animals in distress. IFAW seeks to motivate the public to prevent cruelty to animals and to promote animal welfare and conservation policies that advance the well being to both animals and people. IFAW was founded on, and remains at the forefront of, the campaign to ban commercial seal hunting in Canada as well as a long-term commintment to end the commercial killing of whales. Elephants are threatened by habitat loss, conflict with humans and ivory poaching.  We are determined to reverse these disturbing trends to ensure there is always a place for elephants on our planet.  We are also working to guarantee that all wild animals have the protection they need from the trade in, and consumption of, animal products.  Our Animal Rescue teams strive to relieve animals from pain and suffering during natural and man-made disasters and we bring care and treatment to thousands of cats and dogs in some of the world’s poorest communities.  IFAW’s Animal Action Education programmes empower young people and communities to take positive action for animals. In the UK, IFAW was instrumental in achieving the ban on hunting with dogs with the introduction of the Hunting Act and we continue to lead the way in ensuring its effective enforcement.  We are part of 'Team Badger' campaigning to prevent next year's proposed badger cull in England.  Every fundraising event and donation made is crucial to make sure that this important work for animals can continue.
