Citizens Advice Newcastle (UK, 1135396) Browse events

YTD Raised: £120.00

Citizens Advice Newcastle help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers. Citizens Advice Newcastle is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities. We are equipped to deal with any issue, from anyone; debt, benefits, housing, employment, consumer issues, relationships, family matters, health, education, discrimination, immigration and the law. Advisers recognise that one problem is often the cause or result of another so, rather than addressing a single issue at a time; they look at a client’s situation holistically. This way, other potential problems can be identified early or pre-empted, which prevents them escalating into anything more serious. We are a member of the national Citizens Advice service, which provides the extensive information system we use to advise clients and sets standards for advice, training, equal opportunities and accessibility in the bureau. The Citizens Advice Newcastle Service is fully accessible for wheel chair users.

We principally set out to help underprivileged children achieve their aspirations through performing arts and sport. We also like to raise awareness of Organ donation and the benefits this can bring. The foundation takes its inspiration from Karis and the character and kind human being she was, it’s through her acts of giving and caring that we continue to support children in the way in which her integrity allowed. Karis was always helping and giving in life, she would light up a room with her personality. She saved 5 lives with her organs and would have been so proud others can aspire because of her, the foundation provide facility for the caring and help Karis gave in life is never forgotten. We are not a national charity our volunteers help to keep the charity sustainable and every penny we raise goes towards our foundation supporting children and young adults. Our strength is in the local and wider community with many events being held and more and more opportunity for children and youth to aspire through our foundation, we believe that the best way to get something done is to begin
