The India Dhamma Trust raises money from the Triratna Buddhist Community world-wide to help bring about the historic revival of Buddhism in India, the land of the Buddha’s birth. There are hundreds of thousands of Indian Buddhists, many from so-called 'untouchable' communities, who have tasted the liberative power of the Dhamma but have no access to effective teachings or practitioners.Since 1978 Triranta has trained hundreds of men and women in the Dhamma to the point of Ordination, helping them make a lifetime commitment to practicing the path of radical self-responsibility and passing it on others. However the ordination teams would like to reach out to many more Buddhists from all over India - especially women - who would like to walk that path. The India Dhamma Trust is working to both raise the money that they need but also to help them to raise those funds locally. Our brothers and sisters in India need your help to enable them to expand their Dhamma activities and to enable them to bring about this historic Buddhist revival.
