All songs are then recorded and put on cds for participants and their loved ones to keep. Participants are also given the option of sharing their song on The Swan Song Project website www.swansongproject.co.uk.Our songwriters work closely with all participants to help create a song that says what they want it to say and sounds how they want it to sound. Many participants choose to have their songs played at their funerals.We currently work with several hospices offering the service to all their patients as well as their loved ones both before and after bereavement. Over time we would like to offer the service in the community as well.The Swan Song Project also offers group activities at the hospices including singing for patients with breathing difficulties, hospice choirs and music groups involving a range of different instruments. Please donate to support our cause.The Swan Song Project began at Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford in May 2017 and has been incredibly well received. Some of the benefits are:Helps participants to reflect on their lives and the person they are beyond their Illness often offering new perspectives.Is a means of communicating difficult emotions to loved ones in a beautiful and lasting way.Creates a unique and personal piece of art that can live on for many years to come.Creates a huge sense of pride in participants in what they have created. WHAT IS HOME-START? Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities throughout the UK and with British Forces in Germany and Cyprus. Home-Start offers a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers who are usually parents themselves, to visit families at home who have at least one child under 5 and offer informal, friendly and confidential support. To help give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community. Whilst all Home-Start schemes are guided by the same principles, each is an autonomous unit, individually registered with the Charities Commission, and with their own local management committee responsible for their own funding. Home-Start, Epsom Ewell and Banstead has its office in Great Tattenhams and supports over fifty volunteers who visit and support local families in need.
