YTD Raised: £150.00

We are run solely by volunteers who are passionate about our local hospital, we believe that Solihull Hospital a precious service, it is the lifeline for our whole community. We purchase equipment that could be described as "a nice to have" or pay for equipment to be bought on a trial basis to see the impact it has on the patients life, it might be a more modern version of a piece of existing equipment, it might be a addition to equipment but one thing is for sure ... it will make the patients treatment or time in hospital better than it would have been without the equipment we purchase. We start where the NHS finishes. We raise money by holding stalls, running events, running the afternoon trolley around the wards, raffles, tombolas, collection tins and we get a few legacies along the way.

Home Counties Boxer Welfare (UK, 1006246) Browse events

YTD Raised: £150.00

We consist of a small number of people who voluntarily give their time to rehoming those boxers who, through no fault of their own, have to find a new family. We also try to help with general advice on the Boxer breed and any problems which may arise. Our work consists of booking in and vetting homes available, taking details of dogs to be relocated, transporting Boxers from home to home, and running a back up service when required. Although we aim to place dogs directly from one home to another, it is sometimes necessary to invoke the use of kennels and foster homes on a temporary basis. Where there is difficulty in rehoming a dog due to age or medical condition, we can offer help with veterinary fees. This is only possible thanks to our Sponsor Scheme, where supporters can sponsor a dog of their choice. We also aim to promote responsible Boxer ownership by holding training sessions, mainly in basic obedience, together with fun classes for all, at regular intervals near St. Albans, Hertfordshire. Started primarily for the rehomed Boxer these sessions are now open to all Boxers and their owners, and usually provide a very entertaining afternoon. As you can imagine, all these activities run away with the finances - telephone bills, petrol, kenneling fees and vet bills. We are a registered charity and rely very heavily indeed upon the donations for rehomed Boxers, and fundraising events organised by the committee and supporters - such as exemption shows, raffles, tombola's, stalls, sponsored events etc. Membership subscriptions play a major role and we are always delighted to welcome new members - it is one way, as a boxer lover, that you can surely help the breed that you love. We produce newsletters giving you news or forthcoming events, informative articles on the breed, and stories about the boxers you have helped to rehome. If you feel you have the odd hour to spare and would like to become involved, please contact any committee member.

Glad's House (UK, 1115744) Browse events

YTD Raised: £150.00

Imagine if as a child you had never had the chance to play games or enjoy sport with your friends.  Imagine if every day was a struggle for survival, living on the street with only drugs or alcohol as a means of escape. Imagine those in a position of trust that should be taking care of you, were actually those who abused you. Glad’s House is a UK registered charity working in Mombasa, Kenya to support the thousands of children and young people living and working on the streets. The charity’s aim is to support as many of the city’s homeless children and young people as possible off the streets and into a save home environment with access to education, employment and/or training Founded in 2006, Glad’s House has grown into a holistic project that meets the many needs of the street children and young people in Mombasa. Our Drop In Programme, Papasa, includes education, health care, counselling, sports and creative arts. Glad's House also has a series of Enterprise Schemes including a Bike Shop and Golf Caddie Programme to generate income and offer opportunties for training and employment. Glad's House supports homeless children to leave the street and enable them to successfully stand on their own two feet with support every step of the way. We aim is to provide a safe place for many of these children, away from the street.
