The care we provide is tailored to each client’s needs and may include: Cittamani offers its clients palliative care under a Hospice-at-Home, community-based model. Our philosophy of care centres on a holistic approach which is based on the individual needs of clients. Care is provided in the person’s home environment and enlists their network of family and friends. Our primary aim is to support our clients to live their remaining lives in full and meaningful ways. Cittamani's services address not only the physical aspects of care, including symptom control, but also the emotional and spiritual aspects. Our support services focus on enhancing comfort and improving quality of life. Cittamani is based on Buddhist values of compassion service and the relief of suffering. Our staff and volunteers come from diverse faiths and spiritual traditions but we are united in our values: to serve others with kindness and compassion and in accordance with their values and priorities. Most people facing a terminal illness would choose to spend as much time as possible in their own home surrounded by those they love. Cittamani acknowledges that it takes courage and commitment from family members and friends to provide continuous care at home. Our staff and volunteers are experienced in hospice care and understand the challenges that clients and carers face. We provide information to help our clients and their supporters understand their options and to help them make the choices that are right for them. Family and friends, especially those in the role of primary carer, are also supported.

The Indigenous Marathon Project: 1. Uses the marathon to change lives 2. Aims to promotes healthy and active lifestyles throughout Indigenous communities nationally and reduce the incidence of Indigenous disease 3. Aims to create Indigenous role models and inspire Indigenous people. IMP uses the marathon as a vehicle to promote healthy lifestyles to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Running is accessible to any age, ability and location and has the tremendous power to install a sense of personal accomplishment when one has pushed beyond what they thought possible. The project annually selects a group of young Indigenous men and women to complete the New York City Marathon with just 6 months of training. This highlights the incredible natural talent that exists within this population, with the hope to one day unearth an Indigenous long distance running champion to take on the African dominance. The project uses running to change lives. The core running squad push their physical and mental boundaries to a whole new level, and after crossing the finish line of the biggest marathon in the world they know they can achieve anything. These runners are trained to become healthy lifestyle leaders by completing a Certificate IV in Health and Leisure with a focus on Indigenous Healthy Lifestyle. This qualification is used to promote community based health and exercise initiatives including the Deadly Fun Run Series. Runners become role models within their communities and are leaders in the promotion of health and physical exercise to address the high instance of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and renal failure.
