EchoStars (www.echostars.org) is an Australian based NGO which has built the BrightStars school in Bangladesh for disadvantaged slum dwelling children who otherwise have no access to public education. BrightStars school truly changes the lives of its students. They receive a first class primary education and are supplied with uniforms and meals. They are also given health and welfare support and the opportunity to be part of a caring community. This year the school started a new literacy program for mothers and older siblings who have missed out on education. It is presently installing a new computer program and library room. Every dollar of your support that EchoStars receives from the City2surf appeal will go to BrightStars School Development Program.
